Genuine Pennsylvania Stone Products

Authentic Pennsylvania blue pattern and full color bluestone in thermal and natural cleft finishes, pattern flagging, broken flagstone, pavers, steppers, bullnose step treads (step threads), tile and fieldstone wallrock — quarried in the Endless Mountains bluestone belt and sorted in Throop, PA. We do not sell imported look-alike sandstone.

2" Thermal Blue Bluestone Step Treads — Blue pattern, Thermal, Treads

Treads & Steps

2" Thermal Blue Bluestone Step Treads

Two inch thermal blue pattern step treads with rockfaced edges. Precision thermal finish makes these treads and step threads slip resistant and uniform for entryways and stairs.

Why choose it

The thermal finish gives these blue pattern treads a fine sandblasted texture that stays sure-footed in rain, snow and pool splash, while the sawn thickness keeps every riser dead level. Blue pattern is dense and light in tone, so it sheds heat quickly and stays comfortable underfoot on a summer afternoon — the reason they are a favorite for pool decks, patios and entry steps used barefoot.

Best used for

  • Front entry and porch steps
  • Pool and patio stairs
  • Landings and stoop caps
  • Any stair where slip resistance matters

2" Thermal Blue Rockfaced Specials — Blue pattern, Thermal, Slate

Treads & Steps

2" Thermal Blue Rockfaced Specials

Custom cut two inch thermal blue pattern specials with rockfaced edge. Ideal for standup wallrock caps, landings and oversized step treads.

Why choose it

Custom-cut pieces let you finish a job without an ugly seam. The thermal top matches your treads exactly while the hand rockfaced edge reads as solid quarried stone from the side, so long landings and wall caps look like one continuous slab instead of a patchwork.

Best used for

  • Oversized landings
  • Standup wall and seat-wall caps
  • Custom-length treads
  • Hearths and grill surrounds

6" Full Color Bluestone Rockfaced Steps — Blue pattern, Natural cleft, Treads

Treads & Steps

6" Full Color Bluestone Rockfaced Steps

Six inch full color bluestone steps with a hand rockfaced face. Heavy natural cleft steps and treads built to last generations.

Why choose it

Six inches of solid stone with a hand rockfaced face — these are the heirloom steps. Full color bluestone carries warm rust, tan and lilac tones that pull the natural cleft surface into the landscape, and the mass means they will not shift, crack or need replacing in your lifetime.

Best used for

  • Grand front entrances
  • Garden and grade-change steps
  • Rustic and farmhouse exteriors
  • Heavy-traffic public steps

Beveled 3" Limestone Special — Limestone, Treads, Custom Fabrication

Custom Fabrication

Beveled 3" Limestone Special

Limestone treads and architectural specials, including standard stair sizes, beveled profiles and custom-cut pieces. Available with thermal tops and clean chiseled edges for a refined alternative to bluestone in formal and contemporary work.

Why choose it

Choose limestone when the design calls for a lighter, more architectural finish than bluestone. Its soft, even color and low-glare surface pair naturally with brick, stucco and modern facades, while custom sizing lets the stone fit the detail instead of forcing the detail around a stock piece.

Best used for

  • Standard limestone stair treads
  • Contemporary entryways and formal stair runs
  • Fireplace hearths, mantels and surrounds
  • Window sills, trim and accent courses
  • Custom architectural stone details

Bluestone Wallrock — Bluestone, Wallrock, Retaining Wall

Wallrock & Boulders

Bluestone Wallrock

Natural bluestone wallrock for retaining walls, decorative walls and landscape construction. Irregular stone faces create a substantial, authentic Pennsylvania-stone look in dry-laid or mortared installations.

Why choose it

Choose bluestone wallrock when the wall itself should be the feature. Its natural faces and durable character help retaining walls, garden walls and decorative landscape walls feel grounded, permanent and connected to the surrounding site.

Best used for

  • Retaining walls
  • Decorative landscape walls
  • Freestanding garden walls
  • Seat walls and planter walls

Bullnose Coping & Specials — Bullnose, Coping, Blue pattern

Treads & Steps

Bullnose Coping & Specials

Full color and blue bluestone bullnose coping and custom specials, sawn to size for finished edges around pools, stairs, walls and outdoor living areas. Available in thermal or natural cleft finishes, with custom profiles and dimensions available by request.

Why choose it

Bullnose is a finishing detail and a special-order solution rather than a general paving product. The rounded edge sheds water, softens hard corners and creates a comfortable, durable edge for sitting, stepping and leaning. Pair it with genuine Pennsylvania bluestone paving, wallrock or treads for a cohesive installation.

Best used for

  • Pool perimeter coping
  • Spa and water-feature edges
  • Grand and wide staircases
  • Retaining wall and seat-wall caps
  • Raised planter and garden wall caps
  • Outdoor kitchen counters
  • Bench and seating edges
  • Custom architectural stone details

Natural Cleft Full Color Flagstone — Natural cleft, Flagstone, Flagging

Pavers & Flagging

Natural Cleft Full Color Flagstone

Full color natural cleft flagstone, the classic flagging for patios. Sold as pattern flagging or broken irregular flagstone.

Why choose it

The classic. Split along the natural seam, so every piece has subtle ridges that grip wet shoes and hide dirt between cleanings. Full color brings rust, gold and blue-grey into one patio, and because it is real stone it holds a gentle warmth into the evening — pleasant around a fire pit on a cool NEPA night.

Best used for

  • Patios in pattern or broken irregular layout
  • Garden walkways
  • Mortar-set porches over concrete
  • Rustic and cottage landscapes

Colonial Garden Path Steppers

Colonial garden path steppers in irregular broken shapes, including generous pieces for wider walks and landing areas. Perfect for informal garden paths, stepping stone walks and natural outdoor transitions.

Why choose it

Irregular broken shapes look like they have always been there. Set them with grass, moss or gravel joints for a soft, informal path that drains straight through, with wider pieces available for generous walks and landing pads.

Best used for

  • Informal garden paths
  • Stepping stone walks to a shed or garden
  • Wide garden walks and landing pads
  • Side-yard connectors
  • Meadow and woodland landscapes

Colonial Heavy Steppers — Colonial, Wallrock, Retaining Wall

Wallrock & Boulders

Colonial Heavy Steppers

Heavy colonial stone for retaining walls, freestanding garden walls and decorative landscape walls. Thick, durable pieces create a substantial natural-stone face with the character of genuine Pennsylvania stone.

Why choose it

Choose the heavy colonial when a wall needs presence, durability and an authentic quarried look. Its substantial pieces work well for retaining walls and decorative walls that should feel built into the landscape rather than assembled from thin veneer.

Best used for

  • Retaining walls
  • Freestanding garden walls
  • Decorative landscape walls
  • Seat walls and terrace edges

Colonial Stepper — Select — Steppers, Flagging, Broken

Pavers & Flagging

Colonial Stepper — Select

Select colonial steppers hand picked for consistent thickness and color.

Why choose it

Hand picked for consistent thickness and color, which saves hours on installation — no shimming, no sorting, no odd stone that ruins the run. Choose these when the path is front and center and you want the layout to look intentional.

Best used for

  • Front walkways
  • Formal garden paths
  • Tight-joint stepper runs
  • Projects needing uniform color

Colonial Stepper — Large Format — Steppers, Pavers, Broken

Pavers & Flagging

Colonial Stepper — Large Format

Large format colonial steppers for statement walkways and pool surrounds.

Why choose it

Large format reads modern and calm — fewer joints, more stone. A single big slab as a floating step over gravel or lawn is one of the most striking, lowest-maintenance details you can add to a yard.

Best used for

  • Statement walkways
  • Floating steps over gravel or lawn
  • Pool surrounds
  • Contemporary landscape design

Colonial Thin Flagging — Colonial, Thin Wallrock, Retaining Wall

Wallrock & Boulders

Colonial Thin Flagging

Thin colonial stone for decorative wall faces, retaining-wall veneers and landscape accents where a lower-profile piece is preferred. Natural variation gives each wall the look of genuine Pennsylvania stone.

Why choose it

Choose the thin colonial when you want the character of real stone on a decorative wall, planter face or retaining-wall veneer without the mass of heavy wallrock. Its lower profile is practical for tighter layouts and detail work.

Best used for

  • Decorative wall faces
  • Retaining-wall veneers
  • Planter and raised-bed walls
  • Landscape accents and garden walls

Regular Fieldstone Wallrock — Fieldstone, Wallrock, Standup

Wallrock & Boulders

Regular Fieldstone Wallrock

Regular fieldstone wallrock for dry laid and mortared walls. Natural weathered faces with excellent standup stacking.

Why choose it

Weathered natural faces and flat bedding planes make this the easiest wallrock to stack. It goes up dry laid for a rustic garden wall or mortared for a structural retaining wall, and because the faces are already aged it looks a century old the day it is finished.

Best used for

  • Dry laid garden and retaining walls
  • Mortared structural walls
  • Standup veneer on foundations
  • Fire pit and grill surrounds

Best used for

  • Grade transitions and slope retention
  • Erosion control
  • Driveway and bed edging

Mossy Fieldstone Boulders — Fieldstone, Wallrock, Broken

Wallrock & Boulders

Mossy Fieldstone Boulders

Moss covered fieldstone boulders with mature patina for instant established landscapes.

Why choose it

The moss and lichen are already there. Mossy boulders give a new landscape the settled, decades-old look that ordinary stone takes years to earn — the fastest way to make fresh planting beds feel established.

Best used for

  • Shade and woodland gardens
  • Instant-mature landscapes
  • Water feature and stream edges
  • Specimen accent stones

Landscape Boulders — Fieldstone, Wallrock, Broken

Wallrock & Boulders

Landscape Boulders

Assorted landscape boulders sorted by size, from one man to machine set.

Why choose it

Sorted by size, from one-man stone you can place by hand to machine-set pieces, so you can match the boulder to the job and the equipment on site instead of overbuying.

Best used for

  • Bed borders and edging
  • Parking and traffic barriers
  • Slope and berm accents
  • Mixed-size natural groupings

Large Set Boulders — Fieldstone, Wallrock, Standup

Wallrock & Boulders

Large Set Boulders

Large set boulders for water features and entry monuments.

Why choose it

The anchor stones. A single large set boulder at the drive entrance or in a water feature gives a property scale and permanence that plantings cannot buy, and it never needs replacing.

Best used for

  • Entry monuments and address stones
  • Waterfalls and water features
  • Large-scale retaining
  • Commercial landscape focal points

Weathered Boulder Assortment — Fieldstone, Natural cleft, Wallrock

Wallrock & Boulders

Weathered Boulder Assortment

Weathered boulder assortment with natural cleft faces and rich color variation.

Why choose it

Natural cleft faces and rich color variation mean no two are alike, so groupings look like exposed native ledge rather than a delivered pile. Ideal when you want the stone to disappear into the landscape.

Best used for

  • Naturalistic rock outcrops
  • Stream beds and dry creeks
  • Planting bed accents
  • Slope stabilization
